Dawoud Bey is a African American photographer who has family roots in Harlem, He has become one of the most widely acclaimed portraitists on the contemporary scene. A promotional campaign was created for the Art Institute of Chicago’s, “Harlem U.S.A.” exhibition. An identity, promotional, and way-finding systems were created for the event.
IFTTT is a San Francisco based company that allows users to connect web applications using an ‘if this then that’ equation. I had the pleasure of creating freelance illustrations for IFTTT’s bi-weekly recipe blog posts. The illustration style consist of fun, simplistic, and friendly images with the use of IFTTT’s signature brand colors.
Charles Bradley is an extremely talented and humble soul singer, who had a tough time getting by in his early years. At the ripe age of sixty-four, Charles finally got his break to stardom. In the era in which Bradley is from, computers were just coming into play. Found paper collaged together was used to depict his story of never giving up. These images are inspired by his documentary called Soul of America.
Domtar’s Lynx paper line consist of reliable, cost efficient and of quality white paper. The company prides themselves in donating proceeds to the WWF and the Rainforest Alliance. It is only right to promote the lynx paper line by highlighting the beautiful species that it was named after. This book will take you on a journey through the cold mysterious environment of the captivating lynx.
Dogfish Head Beer
Dogfish Head Brewery is known for their strange concoctions of beer, silly accessories, and having their own music group. How can you not have fun with this beer? To cater to Dogfish Head’s motto, “off-centered but on target,” bold hand typography and strong colors such as teal and orange were used to mimic the brewery’s outgoing persona. It would be impossible to overlook this kooky beer on the beer shelf.
Cross-cultural collaboration is the exchange of ideas and information from one culture to another. Young designers from the US are sent to Japan for a 3-day convention where they will learn and appreciate Japanese aesthetics. Modern design and typefaces are used in partner with Japanese characters to indicate the relationships created.
CB2 carries affordable modern home goods for any living space. Their main target audience are college students, who have literally, just left the nest. Wrent was created with dual functions, either place it outside for your neighborhood House Wren to nest in or bring it inside as a nice decorative piece to accent a nicely designed area in your pad.
